UP10TION (업텐션), short for Unbelievably Perfect 10 members Teenager Idol Open Now, is a 10-member boy group formed by TOP Media. The group consists of Jinhoo, Kuhn, Kogyeol, Wei (Lee Jinhyuk), Bitto, Wooshin (Kim Wooseok), Sunyoul, Gyujin, Hwanhee and Xiao. On September 10, 2015, the group debuted with their first mini album, Top Secret —級秘密 (일급비밀), with the title track So, Dangerous. On March 8, 2017, they debuted in Japan with their single, ID with the title track bearing the same name.
Months before their debut, the members were introduced through King of Masked Rookie, a parody of MBC's King of Mask Singer, where they had to showcase their different talents and skills to be judged by their CEO, Andy and their senior groups, Teen Top and 100%. They also had a pre-debut reality show called Rising! Up10tion, aimed to hone their skills to be able to debut in both Korea and China.
In 2019, two members, Wei (who changed his real name and stage name to Lee Jinhyuk) and Wooshin (who changed his stage name to his real name, Kim Wooseok), participated in Mnet's Produce x 101. Jinhyuk was eliminated and continued his path as a soloist while still being part of the group, while Wooseok made it into the final lineup as the 2nd placer, making him a member of the group, X1. After the exposure of the program's manipulation, the group disbanded and Wooseok followed Jinhyuk into becoming a soloist, while still being part of UP10TION as well.
Since their rookie days, UP10TION has been complimented a lot for their synchronization while dancing.
